The State Department informed the Jewish Daily Bulletin correspondent that inquiries regarding relatives in Palestine who are not American citizens, cannot be handled by the State Department or any other branch of the American government at this time, owing to the fact that the resources of the State Department, and more especially the American Consulate at Jerusalem, are taxed beyond capacity by the flood of inquiries regarding American citizens in Palestine. The Department will, therefore, be unable to answer inquiries regarding those who are not American citizens, and inquiries must specify American citizenship until the consulate reports its ability to answer such inquiries, which is not expected to be for some time yet, in view of the fact that the personnel of the Jerusalem Consulate is inadequate to cope with the immense amount of work which has descended (Continued on Page 12)
