The World Zionist Executive here with headquarters at 77 Great Russeil Street, received this morning an urgent cablegram from the Zionist Executive in Jerusalem, requesting the Zionist leaders to exert every possible influence with the British Imperial government to move the Palestine officials towards according effective and greater protection for the Jewish population.
The Jerusalem Executive pointed out that since the beginning of the riots they were assured by the Jerusalem authorities that “Safed is adequately protected” but the troops arrived many hours after the slaughter started Hordes of Arabs descended upon the Jewish population of Safed, pillaging and murdering in the open. Even to day the marauders are carrying in open daylight the spoil they looted with no one to interfere or to arrest them.
