Ten thousand Jews demonstrated in a monster protest meeting last night against the outrages perpetrated against the Jews in Palestine by the Arabs. The sum of $10,000 for the relief of the victims was raised.
In a spirited address Congressman Clarence McLeod declared that the United States Congress will be unanimous in its support of the Jewish claims to a National Homeland in Palestine.
Expressing the indignation of the Christian community, Judge Frank Murphy urged that a Jewish battalion in Palestine would be the safest guarantee for the Jewish people.
Other speakers included Rabbi Hershman, Rabbi Ashinsky and Joseph Haggai. Milford Stern presided. British failure to guarantee Jewish security was condemned by Rabbi Ashimsky.
In messages received from Mayor John C. Lodge of Detroit and Senator A. H. Vandenberg, the certainty was expressed that Palestine will be the Jewish National Home.
