The results suffered from the Palestine outrage appalled him, declared H. C. Luke, Civil Secretary of the Palestine Government, who stopped, here en route from Safed. Mr. Luke was questioned by a Haifa Jew about the security of Haifa and the Emek, and was told by him that despite calm, the danger of attacks and arson have not passed and the Emek settlements must be reinforced.
The Jews demanded immediate punishment of the known assailants, with which Mr. Luke agreed, adding that all damaged crops, etc., will be paid for by the neighboring Arab villages.
