Transjordania Moslems Come to Jerusalem to Visit Mosque of Omar

The Mosque of Omar was brilliantly lighted last night, which is unusual. Rumors were circulated that Transjordanian Moslems had applied and been granted permission to visit the Mosque today, the sixth Friday since the outbreak.

If a large number are allowed to enter, they will undoubtedly be disarmed at the Allenby Bridge which, in the past days, has been guarded by barbed wire and sandbags as an additional precaution against unauthorized incursion.

The “Naffer,” Arab newspaper of Haifa, was suppressed for a fortnight, on account of an inflammatory article it published.

The “Al Jamieh El Arabia,” semi-official organ of the Arab Executive, and the “Meraat El Sherek,” which is edited by a Christian, were suspended for one week because of inciting articles.
