Allocations of $392,290 were made at a meeting of the Distribution Committee and the Board of Directors of the Charity Chest of the Fur Industry of the City of New York.

Alex. A. Bernstein, chairman of the committee, in submitting the report to the Board, stated that “in order to make good the promise of the industry to its membership as well as to the institutions that there would be no independent and individual solicitations by the institutions, and that the fur industry, through the Charity Chest, would continue to support these organizations as heretofore, the committee was compelled to adopt the minimum budget, even though this meant that the Chest would incur a deficit and would, therefore, be compelled to draw upon tis Emergency Fund.”
