The Arabs in Palestine who are waging a bitter campaign against Attorney General Norman Bentwich, employed as a pretext for their demand that he be removed from office, the incident regarding the rejection of Mr. Bentwich’s gift to the special fund for the British constables.

The London “Daily Chronicle” states that when the Arabs learned Mr. Bentwich’s gift had been returned, they utilized this as another opportunity to demand his removal, believing that it would not be difficult to get rid of an official who was treated in such a manner by the British community in Palestine. The paper also declares that another point which the Arabs are employing in their demand for Mr. Bentwich’s removal is the official decision that the Attorney General is not to decide the cases growing out of the recent outbreak on his own responsibility but is to act with a minor British non-Jewish official.
