Disquieting rumors are coming from all over the country this morning as the Arabs are (Continued on Page 4)

preparing to carry out the general strike proclaimed by the Arab Executive for today, the twelfth anniversary of the Balfour Declaration. The atmosphere is described as more electric than ever before. Meetings are being held in the villages and inflammatary speeches are being made for the purpose of fomenting the Arabs to outbreaks, the reports state.

Official quarters do not anticipate any trouble as the military have the situation in control, it was declared.

Great activity was shown on Friday in Jaffa. Black flags were distributed to be displayed on all Arab premises during today’s strike. Jewish merchants in Jaffa withdrew to Tel Aviv in consequence of the general activity in the Arab city.

A report from Amman, the capital of Transjordania, declares that work is being suspended, Arabs there joining with the Palestine Arabs in the general strike. Except for the suspension of work all is quiet in the capital.
