The sixteenth annual Tag Day of the Jewish National Fund has been set for Sunday, December 8th, 1929, the Fund headquarters announced. Preparations are being made by Zionist districts, Hadassah chapters Young Judaea, Junior Hadassah, Poale Zion, Zeire Zion and the Mizrachi Organizations to secure contributions to the Jewish National Fund on Tag Day.

The Jewish National Fund has been made beneficiary in many insurance policies and bequests in all parts of the world, according to a recent statement by Emanuel Neumann, president of the National Fund in America. The practice is gradually being extended to this country, several policies having been written recently. One such policy for $5,000 has just been reported by Harry J. Kahn, and another by L. Schochet of the Judaea Life Insurance Co. for $1.000, taken out by S. Nadel of Jersey City.

Patients numbering 45,987 received treatment in the Jewish Hospital of Brooklyn, according to the annual report made public. Of these, 10,374 were treated in the hospital proper and 35,613 in the out-patient department. The number of visits made by the patients to the out-patient department reached 113,000, or 21,000 more than in the preceding year.

Joseph J. Baker is president of the institution. Last year, according to the report of the institution to the United Hospital Fund, 40% of its ward service was rendered free.
