With the annual meeting and election of officers of the associated Talmud Torahs held November 10, at Jewish Educational Center No. 2, the Jewish community of Philadelphia brought to a close the tenth anniversary celebration of the founding of the Associated Talmud Torahs, a constituent of the Federation of Jewish Charities.

A series of interesting and significant events took place during the celebration of the Anniversary Week. On Sunday, November 3, at the Y.M.H.A., Broad and Pine Streets, 140 pupils of the elementary and high school classes, a record group, were graduated. On Sunday evening, November 3, a Hebrew Evening was held at which the principal speaker was Zvi Scharfstein of New York. A Hebrew playlet was presented by the pupils of the Hebrew High School on this occasion.

Tuesday evening, November 5, was celebrated as Parents’ Evening in all the nine schools of the Associated Talmud Torahs. On this evening, the Parents’ Associations of the Schools kept open-house for parents of the Jewish community and interested them in the work of the schools and in the Parents’ Association.

Wednesday, November 6, was set apart as Children’s Day. A series of parties, celebrations and entertainments were held in all of the schools and attracted a great number of children who had not previously been registered.

Teachers’ Evening was held on Thursday evening, Nov. 7, at the Jewish Educational Center No. 2. The speakers included Professor Max L. Margolis, Dr. A. handelman, Israel S. Chipkin, Educational Director, Jewish Education Association of New York, and Ben Rosen, Educational Director of the Associated Talmud Torahs of Philadelphia. Max Vereta was chairman.

On Friday evening, November 8, with the cooperation of the synagogues of Philadelphia, Jewish education Sabbath was observed. Ministers devoted the topics of their sermons to the problems of Jewish education.

On Sunday afternoon, November 10,a Hebrew High School rally was held at the Y. M. H. A. at Broad and Pine Streets, and in the evening the annual meeting of the Associated Talmud Torahs took place.

The following officers were elected for the coming year: President, Louis E. Levinthal; vice-presidents, Robert M. Bernstein, Jacob Edelstein, Dr. Max L. Margolis; treasurer, Charles Lipshutz; secretary, Dr. J. H. Greenstone; executive director, Ben Rosen.
