That the Arabs during the recent riots in Palestine made a distinction between Jewish Communists and Jewish non-Communists is apparent from stories appearing in today’s Soviet press. The reports tell about fifteen Jews re-emigrating from Palestine to Russia, who arrived at Odessa on the Steamer “Tchitcherin,” including Dr. Lemberski, who related how when travelling from one colony to another he was stopped on the highway by three armed Arabs who were about to kill him.
When he showed them his red Soviet passport the Arabs immediately changed their attitude from one of hostility to complete friendliness. When they asked him if he was a “Muscovi” he answered in the affirmative and they immediately released him.
