The use of cooperatives to further the economic development of Palestine and the carrying on of research in problems connected with the health and well-being of the people was advocated by Prof. Elliot Mears, a Carnegie Foundation lecturer in an address today before the Hebrew University on Palestine and the economic development of the Near East. Professor Mears pointed out that Palestine has always been a victim of her geographical position.
