The famous collection of orchids belonging to the Jewish financier, Camillo Castiglioni, has been purchased by the Austrian state. The collection was once the property of Baron Goldschmidt-Rothschild of Frankfort-am-Main, one of the great lovers of orchids who sent his buyers to all parts of the world to bring back the rarest orchids wherever they were to be found.
