The Jewish Relief Society “Capo” of Kiev, has been entirely liquidated by an order from the Ukrainian government which declares that if the Society desires to continue, it must change its statutes to assist not only Jews who become poor but the poor of other nationalities. In this connection the Jewish Communists have begun a campaign against the Jewish scientist and medical man, Professor Lurie, the head of “Capo,” going so far as to demand the professor’s exclusion from the union of medical workers as punishment for “wrongful activity” in supporting the Jewish poor.
