Compares Old Legend with Tale of Jewish Capture of Jerusalem Mosque

Comparing the legend current in the days of Oliver Cromwell that the Jews bought St. Paul’s Cathedral in London with the intention of converting it into a synagogue with the rumors about the Jews capturing the Mosque, the Palestine “Bulletin” recalls that the Moslems were once willing to sell their property rights in the Wailing Wall to Moses Montefiore. The “Bulletin” adds that it is “unfortunate that we have to go to Geneva to ask for an international commission to settle a matter of such little difficulty, namely, the right of the Jews to pray and the property rights of the Moslems. Let the commission set to work quickly and publish its findings without delay.”
