The famous Chassidic rabbi, “Chafetz Chaim,” yesterday presided here at a great rabbinical assembly, in which there participated the Chassidic rabbis of Ger and Amschinow, rabbis of Cracow, Tarnople, Petrikow and other cities of Poland. The purpose of the rabbinical assembly was to consider the new law regulating the Jewish religious communities which the government is preparing, and to unite upon the creation of a supreme Jewish religious council for Poland.

Another conference of the rabbis will take place on Monday. At this conference are expected also the Chassidic rabbis of Alexander, Belz and Bobow, as well as the Vilna rabbi, Grodzenski, and other noted rabbis of Poland. It is expected that the conference will choose a delegation to confer with the government.
