Mithgal Pasha, leading Bedouin sheik of Transjordania, heads the list of petitioners to High Commissioner Chancellor through the Emir Abdullah against the extradition of Ahmed Taphis, absconder and convict accused of the murder of Mamaan and other Jews in Safed, and subsequently the leader of a brigand band in North Palestine. He was captured at Ramtha, Transjordania.

The petitioners include doctors, lawyers, and merchants who point out that in obedience to the orders of Emir Abdullah, Transjordan remained neutral during the Palestine trouble but that the extradition of Taphis is contrary to international law since he was a patriot and acted out of political motives.
