The Jewish Peace Society of Great Britain and Ireland today issued a statement declaring that “the American offer to reduce its naval strength in proportion to any standard—however low—which the other powers may accept, holds out the possibility of greater disarmament than ever before. The Jewish Peace Society urges His Majesty’s Government to take the fullest advantage of this opportunity of bringing about, in cooperation with the other powers, a radical reduction in all classes of war vessels and the total abolition of battleships and submarines.”
