Vladimir Burtzev, noted Russian revolutionary, in an interview with the Paris correspondent of the Hebrew paper, “Doar Hayom,” confirmed the recent statement of Gregory Bessedovesky anent Communist activities in Palestine. Burtzev said that the Palestine Communists party of about 500 members is constantly receiving reinforcements as well as $25,000 annually in addition to special grants.

He explained that propagandist material is smuggled in via Alexandria on instructions through the eastern department, one of whose heads, Piatnuzky, recently visited Palestine. Burtzev asserts that the Soviet consul-general at Jedda conducts Communist activities in Palestine and helped to organize the Palestine riots among many sheiks on the Communist payroll who were instructed to sow hatred of England and paralyze British activities generally.
