Arthur Brisbane, in his editorial column “Today,” in the New York “American” of Friday, recommends Judge Benjamin Cardozo of New York for the U. S. Supreme Court vacancy created by the death of Justice Sanford.

Mr. Brisbane says: “There are many able lawyers in the United States and a majority of them will agree that Cardozo will make an excellent Supreme Court judge. His appointment would mean three justices from New York, but the Supreme Court should not be considered politically as state patronage.”

Earlier in the week the New York “Telegram” also highly praised Judge Cardozo as a prospective candidate for the Supreme Court.
