A cavalry division escorted Abraham Ratshesky, the new United States Minister at Prague, to an official reception at which he was the guest of President Masaryk. Members of the American Legation and of the Czechoslovakian Foreign Office were also present.
“The eyes of the world,” the Minister said, “are on the Czechoslovakian Republic, the land of promise and already rich in achievement, in industry, finance, education and social welfare. I have been charged by President Hoover to convey his warm personal wishes for your welfare and the assurance of his deep interest in the continued prosperity and happiness of the Czechoslovakian Republic.”
