Greek Government Increases Jewish School Subsidies

The Greek government, following an interview of Jewish representatives with Premier Venizelos, has increased the subsidy from the government to the Jewish schools of Salonica from 1,090,000 drachma ($14,170) to 1,200,000 drachmas ($15,600) while the total government subsidies to Jewish schools throughout Greece has been increased from 1,400,000 drachmas ($18,200) to 1,800,000 drachmas ($23,400).

The government has also granted 500,000 drachmas ($6,500) for the construction of a Jewish school in Salonica.
