Berlin Police Chief Promises to Allay Pogrom Atmosphere

M. Zoergriebel, police president of Berlin, today assured the executive committee of the German Union of Jewish Frontier Soldiers that the police would do everything in their power to safeguard the life and property of citizens. The executive of the Union had waited upon the police president to express its serious concern at the growth of a pogrom atmosphere.

M. Zoergriebel has already sent out a radio appeal to the public to help the police in maintaining order. Tuesday the Union will hold a mass meeting in the City Hall to protest against the pogrom atmosphere. The mass meeting will be addressed by George Bernhard and M.
