The members of Congregation Sherith Israel, meeting at a specially called session last night, accepted the recommendation of the board of directors and elected Rabbi Jacob Weinstein. He succeeds the late Rabbi Jacob Nieto.
Rabbi Weinstein will occupy his new rabbinate in a few weeks. He comes here from Texas where he was associated with the Hillel Foundation.
