Simon Broza, the first Jewish colonist to return to Motza since the riots of last year, is not entirely secure from attack by his Arab neighbors. This was learned by a detachment of police who went to investigate Broza’s status. While the police went to visit Broza’s vineyard, which is near the Arab village of Kolonia, the Arabs sought to prevent their visit. Later a mukhtar from Kolonia sent a letter to the policemen at Broza’s house telling them that he would not be responsible if the Kolonia villagers attacked Broza.
When Broza first returned to Motza he reported that his Arab neighbors were still threatening vengeance because one Arab was killed during the riots, this despite the fact that seven Jews were murdered there.
