Newark (Sep. 11)
A public memorial service was held here last night to honor the memory of the 133 Jewish victims of the Palestine riots a year ago. The service was held under the auspices of the Jewish National Fund Council of Newark.
The principal address was delivered by Captain Abraham Tulin, member of the Administrative Committee of the Zionist Organization of America. Other speakers were Rabbi Kook, of Afule, Palestine, and a brother of Chief Rabbi Kook, of Jerusalem; Samuel Kriss, a Palestinian resident, now visiting here; and Rabbi Leon S. Lang and Herman L. Kahan, of this city. Rabbi Lang is president of the Newark Zionist district, and Rabbi Kahan was in Palestine while the riots occurred.
A similar memorial service will be held at the Hoboken Jewish Center Friday, with Rabbi Leon Spitz delivering the principal address.
