The Jewish Agency’s Executive is now discussing the Jewish immigration quota for the next six months which it will submit to the Palestine government. The estimate of the General Federation of Jewish Labor proposes 2,800 while the Jewish Agency’s estimate will probably be 2,000. The new half year schedule if approved means that the certificates suspended last May will not be revived despite an earlier proposal to press for the release of the cancelled certificates before submitting the new quota.
