The report of Sir John Hope Simpson, who investigated problems of land settlement, immigration and development in Palestine on behalf of the British government, will be made public Monday at 6 P. M., it was officially announced here today. The three matters on which Sir John’s investigation is based were the most important issues raised in the report of the Shaw Commission.
The appointment of Sir John was the direct result of the Shaw Commission’s recommendations that measures be taken to work out means of regulating Jewish immigration in accordance with the country’s capacity to absorb it and the appointment of an expert to look into the agricultural situation in Palestine. Sir John is such an expert, having made a special study of similar problems in Greek Macedonia.
Upon Sir John’s report, which has been awaited with great expectancy, the British government will base its future policy in Palestine. A statement outlining this policy is expected at the end of the month.
