Fearing that the expected explanation by the British government of its White Paper on Palestine will depart from the standpoint of the White Paper which is considered favorable by the Arabs, the Arab Executive today forwarded a resolution to High Commissioner Chancellor protesting against the continued existence of the Balfour Declaration as a “conflict with the rights of the Arab nation” and an “obstruction to their freedom.”
It is understood that a similar resolution demanding the complete abrogation of the Balfour Declaration is to be sent to the Colonial Office. As a result of the reports from London that the government will shortly issue an explanatory declaration of its Palestine policy, a majority of the Arabs, hitherto prepared to participate in the proposed legislative council, are now reported to be assuming an uncompromising attitude.
