Radical Zionists Declare No Change in Opposition to Present Zionist Executive

When we found that we could not carry our demands for the resignation of the Executive at the November session of the Actions Committee, we demanded the formation of the Political Commission, with the Opposition taking part, because we could not leave the direction of the fateful negotiations with the Mandatory Power to the present Executive, which we have opposed for years and whose system has visibly broken down in the past year, says a Statement made here by the Central Committee of the Zionist Radical Organisation. Our entry into the Political Commission was therefore not an expression of agreement with the political activities of the Executive, but an expression of our mistrust, and our desire to influence the negotiations with the Mandatory Power along the lines of our political demands, in order to bring about an end of the present intolerable state of affairs. The progress of events has shown that the existence of the Political Commission and our participation in it were important.

This state of affairs has not been altered by the postponement of the Congress, the Statement proceeds. The reasons which moved us in November to participate in the Political Commission continue unchanged, since without our participation the directing of the negotiate would be left in the hands of the Executive. Our future policy, the statement concludes, will be a continuation of the fight against the political system represented by Dr. Weizmann all these years, and a demand for a fundamental change of this system and its representatives. Our co-operation in future Zionist coalitions and the formation of a Executive at the Congress will depend on the achievement of these conditions which have for years decided our political attitude.
