The Belgisn State prize for literature for 1931 has been awarded to the Jewish writer, Joseph Schulsinger, for his play “Le Septenaire”, also known as “Shiva”. The play is written in French and was produced last winter with great success in Brussels. The subject is the seven-day period of mourning in a Jewish family.
