The Municipality of Warsaw has notified the Central Yiddish School Association that it is unable to subsidise further the summer colonies where Jewish school children are maintained.

The Central Yiddish School Association maintains in the vicinity of Warsaw about 500 Jewish school children, most of whom are in need of fresh air and sunshine. The decision of the Municipality of Warsaw not to subsidise these summer colonies any longer will compel the Yiddish School Organisation to close the colonies if immediate funds are not obtained.

The Municipality of Warsaw, in its notice to the Yiddish School Organisation, says that the reason why it is compelled to stop the subsidising of the Jewish colonies is because of the shortage of funds which the Municipality is experiencing now, and which compels it to make cuts in the budget in every possible manner.
