A detachment of 150 British and Palestine policemen, headed by British officers, surrounded a Bedouin camp last night between Jeddah and Mishmar-Haemek, and arrested three Bedouins on suspicion of being the murderers of the Jews who were found dead on April 5th. in the Jewish labour settlement of Jadjur, on the Haifa-Nazareth Road.
The entire traffic was interrupted during the search, which lasted from midnight till 10 o’clock in the morning. The search followed a special request submitted by the Palestine Government to the Colonial Office for permission to take extraordinary measures for tracing the murderers, who had not been found since the murders were committed.
The Jadjur victims who were killed are Hinda Fishman, Samuel Dishnel, and Jacob Zamil. Four other Jewish workers were seriously injured. The attack upon the victims was made at 10 o’clock in the evening, when the Jewish labourers were returning from the Nesher Cement Works to their homes in Jadjur. From all the signs it appeared that the assailants were Arabs, and that the motive of the attack was not robbery. The assailants, who seemed to have been numerous, fired a volley of shots at the party, the police established upon investigation.
