Mr. Bernard Baruch, the New York Jewish financier, who was during the war Chairman of the War Industries Board and afterwards economic adviser to the American Peace Commission, has visited the White House to report his impressions to the President on the economic conditions in Europe as he observed them during his recent tour.
Mr. Baruch came to Washington on the invitation of President Hoover, and the present financial crisis in America and its relation to European conditions were thoroughly discussed between them.
Mr. Eugehe Mayer, Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board, and Congressman Isaac Bacharach of New Jersey, were prominent figures among the group of administration officials and Congress leaders who participated in a special conference, to which they were called by the President to discuss the financial crisis. Congressman Bacharach is a leading member of the Congress Committee on Ways and Means.
