In Volhynia Jews have been attacked by a mob, but the Jewish self-defence formed there came into action and beat back the at tackers. The District Governor has issued an official communique, declaring that every attempt at disturbances will be vigorously suppressed by the authorities, who will not hesitate to use arms against the rioters.

In Lodz, the City Council has adopted a resolution condemning the anti-Jewish riots at the Polish Universities. The National Democratic members of the Council spoke and voted against the resolution, but they were outnumbered.

A similar resolution has been adopted at a big meeting of Jewish and non-Jewish workers which has been held in Lodz.
