The Hitlerist papers have started a campaign to-day against the appointment by the Prime Minister, Dr. Bruening, of Dr. Freudenthal as Director of the Cultural Department, in the Washington Embassy, demending its anmulment, because it is not right to have a Jew as the bearer of German culture in so important an Embassy as that of Washington.
The J.T.A. is informed that Dr. Freudenthal, though of Jewish birth, is a member of the Christian Church.
