Lord Melchett has been taken ill during his stay in Palestine, and has undergone an operation in Jerusalem. The operation was not serious and has been completely successful.
About a fortnight ago, Lord Melchett was present at the laying of the cornerstone of a memorial to his father, the late Lord Melchett, at Tel ###ond, and in his speech he declared: “I shall continue my father’s work, and will show my devotion to Palestine by deeds”.
