An exhibition of the portraits of the great Jewish painter, Professor Max Liebermann, the President of the Berlin Academy of Art, was opened here yesterday afternoon in the galleries of the Berlin Art Association, inpreparation for the celebrations which are to be arranged for his 85th. birthday, which will occur on July 20th. The Minister of Education and Fine Arts, Dr. Grimme, and Ministerial Councillor Haslinde, the head of the Arts Department of the Ministry, were among those present at the opening, which was performed by Professor Carl Langhammer, the President of the Berlin Art Association.

There are 33 Liebermann portraits on exhibition, painted between 1880 and 1932. The most recent is a portrait of the surgeon Sauerbruch.

All the newspapers print long appreciations of Professor Liebermann in connection with the Exhibition.
