The Vienna police headquarters have started legal proceedings against the “Kampfruf”, the organ of the Austrian Nazis, for threatening to attack the Vienna police headquarters as a reprisal for the action of the police in protecting Jews against Nazi aggressors.

We have previously referred to the feeling of nervousness that exists in the Schottenring (literally Scotland Yard-the headquarters of the Vienna police), the “Kampfruf” wrote, and to the fact that the police are being incited against our party comrades, whenever there are demonstrations in the neighbourhood of the Jewish quarter. Jewish cafe houses, the ghetto in the centre of the town, and especially the Jewish quarter, Leopoldstadt, appear, to be under the special protection of the Vienna police headquarters.

If this attitude is not immediately changed, if the present responsible leaders of the Vienna police do not immediately realise that the police are here not for Jews but for the Germans of Vienna, then Nazi Vienna may have to attempt a march to the Schottenring.
