The Administrative Tribunal here yesterday confirmed the decision of the District Governor of Pommerania who refused to grant a permit for the purchase of a house in the township of Brodnica to a Jewish woman, Ester Wiener by name.
In accordance with German law whenever immovable property changes hands, a permit is required. The Polish administration is utilizing this law to debar Jews from purchasing houses and other property.
Ester Wiener brought her case to the Administrative Tribunal after the District governor had decided against her, in order to secure a ruling.
The Administrative tribunal refused to give its reasons for upholding the decision of the District Governor, stating merely that in the interests of the state, they must be kept secret.
