The Jewish Party of Roumania secured the minimum of 2% of the votes cast in yesterday’s Parliamentary elections and thus is entitled to representation in Parliament, partial returns show.
The procuring of this 2% assures the election of Dr. Meyer Ebner, Josef Fischer, Michael Landau and Samuel Singer.
The Union of Roumanian Jews, which entered a coalition with the Economic bloc and put forth Dr. William Filderman as their leading candidate, secured not a single seat, since the Economic Bloc failed to secure the minimum vote necessary.
The peasant party, it is believed, gained a majority, while the Cuzists are expected to be the fifth strongest party in Parliament. The fate of the anti-Semitic Iron Guard party is not yet known. The Party of former Premier Jorga failed to secure a single mandate.
