A Jewish watchman, Alexander Zeid, and his son, in the village of Sheik Abrek, in the vicinity of Kukustaban, were attacked by Bedouins early this morning. Zeid’s son received serious injuries and is in a critical condition.

Several Bedouins were arrested. The scene of the attack is in a territory which has been the subject of much dispute between Jewish settlers and Arabs in recent months.

The Jewish settlers claim the right to plough the land which has been challenged on several occasions by the Arabs who attacked the Jews. In March a number of Arabs and Jews were arrested following a dispute over the right to plough the land which culminated with an attack by the Arabs.
