Resident of Tunis Taken to Task for Failure to Protect Jews Against Attack

The general press is criticized today for its silence in the face of the anti-Jewish attacks which occurred in Tunis last Monday by the Socialist daily, “Populaire.”

The paper criticizes the Resident General Manceron, for failing to take adequate steps to protect the Jewish population.

Eleven Jews were injured last Monday in the attacks which began with a quarrel between an Arab and a Jewish merchant and culminated with an invasion of the Jewish quarter.
