“Assistant Commissioner of Immigration Uhl should be more mature in his judgment of the immigrant masses of this nation,” asserts the local Jewish Chronicle in its current issue.

The paper takes sharp issue in a front page editorial with the government official for his statement that “most of the lawlessness today can be traced in the majority of individual cases to aliens of the first generation of their descendants. Now we are gradually ridding the country of undesirables, but it is a long and tedious job and we would have been spared the trouble if the immigration rush had been terminated soon.”
