Ministerial Director Hans Goslar, who for 13 years had been head of the Press Department of the Prussian Government, which was originally founded by him, will not resume his duties after October 1st, when his leave of absence expires, it is learned here.
In accordance with the decision adopted by the Commissar of Prussia, he is now to be definitely dismissed from his post.
Herr Hans Goslar took the opportunity before vacating his position to hold a conference of representatives of the foreign and local press. He laid stress on the fact that his future work will not be connected with politics. He had always desired to establish cordial relations between the Prussian Government and the press, he said, although occasional conflicts could not be avoided. He wished the press to appreciate the fact that his position had not always been an easy one, but he had tried to carry out his duties honestly and with the best intentions of serving the German Fatherland.
Herr Goslar’s leave of absence, and his consequent dismissal, is due to Nazi pressure, it is stated, because he is a Jew.
