Catholic clergymen were prohibited from supporting the National Socialists or their ceremonies in a letter sent out today by the Archbishop of upper Austria.

A similar prohibition, it is expected, will be issued by the Archbishop of Vienna.

The action, it is believed, is due to the fact that in the latest communal elections, an alarming reduction in the Christian Socialist vote was noted, in favor of the Nazis.
