A vicious attack upon the Jews, the von Papen government and the Nationalist Party as Jewish instrumentalities is contained in the first election proclamation issued yesterday by the Nazis and distributed from house to house.

“Away with von Papen, Hugenberg and their Jewish helpers who caused the inflation in order to enrich Galician speculators,” says the Nazi proclamation.

Away with the party which placed the Jewish bastard Duesterberg before the electorate as a candidate for the presidency of the Reich, the Nazis proclaim.

The reference is to Lieutenant Colonel Theodor Duesterberg, defeated candidate for president of the Nationalist Party of Dr. Alfred Hugenberg, and leader of the Steel Helmets, who is of Jewish descent, as has been disclosed recently.

The Nazi proclamation further charges that the Ullstein press and the Jewish press support Chancellor von Papen because he is fortifying the power of the Jews.

The election proclamation announces the Nazi program for employment from which the Jews are to be excluded.

Simultaneously, Paul Joseph Goebbels, one of Hitler’s principal lieutenants, issued a proclamation prohibiting members of the Nazi party from reading the Hugenberg press or press owned by Jews.
