None of the hopes of the Jews that the projected trading hours decree will create new economic facilities for them are to be fulfilled, it was learned here yesterday.
The decree is to be published next week. The compulsory Sunday observance law, which compels observing Jews to keep their places of business closed two days every week, will remain in full force.
The decree does make provision for a small category to work on Sunday for several hours, but this is made dependent upon the sanction of local administrations.
