Temple Emanu-El, the only reform congregation in the city of Montreal, will next month observe its fiftieth anniversary. The congregation was founded in the fall of 1882 and is acknowledged as the mother of liberal Judaism in the Dominion of Canada.

Other liberal congregations are now located in Toronto and Hamilton, Ont.

The opening celebration of the Jubilee will take place on Friday evening, November 25th, which will be in the form of a special religious service in the Temple. A prominent American Jewish divine will be the preacher. Other celebrations will follow in the next two days.

The honorary chairmen of the Jubilee are Maxwell Goldstein, K. C., Mark Workman and Abraham Sommer.
