Tel Aviv (Dec. 21)
The tenth anniversary of the death of Eliezer Ben Yehuda, author of the Hebrew dictionary, will be marked throughout the week of Chanukah which begins on December 23rd.
Commemorative programs have been arranged throughout the country under the auspices of a committee formed in Tel Aviv with the participation of Chaim Nachman Bialik and Mayor Meyer Dizengoff.
During the anniversary week the Committee will seek to raise sufficient funds to make possible the completion of the Hebrew Dictionary, in the midst of whose labors, Ben Yehuda died.
It is also planned to redeem the house in which Ben Yehuda lived and convert it into a museum. Towns and colonies will be urged to name streets after the Hebrew lexicographer.
